"We are Thunder, we will ROAR!"We are a second-year FIRST Tech Challenge team based in Johnston, Iowa, and we enjoy exploring the fields of robotics and STEM and sharing our ideas with our community.

What do we do?
The Competition:
Every year, FIRST puts our a new game/challenge for FTC teams to compete in. Each season we work hard to build, wire, and program a robot that is uniquely built to complete in this game.

Outreach:
In addition to each year's game, we also work to inspire others in the community to learn about STEM and robotics. We do outreaches around our area to teach people about these topic. We also connect with, and meet in person with engineering companies near us to learn about what they do and how they do it.

FIRST is more than robots. The robots are a vehicle for students to learn life skills. Kids often come in not knowing what to expect – of the program nor of themselves. They leave, even after the first season, with a vision, with confidence, and with a sense that they can create their own future. |
